Vox Machina Goes to Hell: Season 3 Trailer Reveal

Critical Role’s Animated Epic Promises Infernal Thrills and Draconic Chills

The Legend of Vox Machina is about to embark on its most perilous—and potentially side-splitting—adventure yet. Prime Video has unleashed the trailer for Season 3, and if you thought our band of lovable misfits couldn’t get into any more trouble, well… you clearly haven’t been paying attention.

Set to premiere on October 3, this latest installment promises to take our heroes on a journey that’s quite literally to hell and back. Vox Machina will be facing off against Thordak, the self-proclaimed “Cinder King,” and his army of dragons and otherworldly fiends. It’s like a D&D player’s wildest dream (or nightmare) come to life!

The trailer showcases our heroes diving headfirst into infernal realms, dodging dragon fire, and presumably making inappropriate jokes at the worst possible moments. It’s everything we’ve come to expect from Vox Machina, cranked up to eleven and set ablaze.

But it’s not all fire and brimstone. The heart of The Legend of Vox Machina has always been its characters, and Season 3 looks to push them to their limits. As the official logline teases, “The lovable band of misfits must rise above their inner (and outer) demons to try and save their loved ones, the Tal’Dorei republic and all of Exandria.” Will Scanlan’s charm work on hellhounds? Can Grog arm-wrestle a dragon? What about romance? These are the burning questions we need answered!

For those keeping score at home, Season 3 will follow the same release pattern as its predecessors: 12 episodes total, with three episodes dropping weekly starting October 3. It’s like getting a mini-campaign every week for 10 weeks straight. Who needs sleep anyway?

Behind the scenes, the Critical Role cast continues to wear multiple hats (some of them probably quite fancy). Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham all return to voice their beloved characters and serve as executive producers. It’s a testament to their dedication that they can juggle voicing these characters, producing the show, and still find time for their weekly D&D sessions. Do they have a Bag of Holding for extra hours in the day?

As we gear up for what promises to be the most epic season yet, we can’t help but wonder: how far can Vox Machina push the boundaries of animated fantasy? With dragons to slay, hells to navigate, and a Cinder King to dethrone, it seems the sky—or perhaps the Abyss—is the limit.

So mark your calendars, set your Prime Video reminders, and maybe start practicing your fire resistance saves. October 3 is coming, and with it, a new chapter in The Legend of Vox Machina. Just remember, when things get too hot to handle, you can always do what Vox Machina does best: roll for initiative and hope for the best!
